From his earliest days of his youth, Brad was drawn to the outdoors, and to photography. An avid backpacker, mountain biker and rock climber, his passions drew him at age 17 to Colorado, where he worked as a ski industry photographer at Crested Butte, Copper Mountain, Breckenridge, and Telluride ski areas. He shot and produced early video projects for Tracker Skis, Crested Butte Nordic Ski School, US Ski Team, and North American Telemark Championships. Brad graduated magna sum laude from University of Colorado Denver with a Bachelors in Fine Art, and holds a Masters of Fine Art from Claremont Graduate University in Claremont, California. His photography has been displayed at multiple venues in Denver and throughout the West Coast.

Brad Polt-Jones has been teaching photography and digital imaging professionally for over 20 years. He founded Future Light Digital in 2002 with an emphasis on hands-on learning, small groups, and making digital photography understandable and exciting. Concurrently, he taught graphic design and digital photography at City College of San Francisco for over 16 years. He has been a guest lecturer and college instructor at colleges throughout the West including UCLA Extension, Los Angeles Mission College, and Mt San Antonio College among others. In his "train the trainers" series, he has taught the college faculty at a number of institutions, keeping them on the latest developments in their field.

Forever committed to his field and engaged in the community, Brad has served on a number of professional organizations and committees in the field of photography and digital imaging. He is a Nikon Professional Photographer, and an Adobe Community Professional. He was previously on the Board of Directors of the San Francisco Digital Imaging Group (SFDIG), and a member of the Educational Committee for the American Photographers' Association.

In addition to teaching, Brad continues to consult with individuals and businesses on creative projects including book design, logo design, digital asset management and related topics. Although rarely seen without a camera, Brad also enjoys exploring the Southwest with his wife and teen daughters, cooking gourmet meals, and attending bluegrass concerts.

Having relocated to Durango, Colorado in 2021, Brad is thrilled to continue the next chapter of Future Light Digital in the Four Corners region. Online classes, and private consulting are available. Be a part of the next chapter: Sign up for the Future Light Digital newsletter today.
