Fort Point HDR Master Class • 07/09-10/2010
Explore the world of HDR photography in this two-day comprehensive workshop. The first day will be entirely on-site at San Francisco's historic Fort Point and Presidio parks capturing a wide variety of HDR subjects. Learn the best strategies for visualizing, evaluating, and setting up the technical parameters of the shoot including the limitations of combining multiple exposure values in a single image. Fort Point offers a unique environment for an in-depth exploration of HDR photography both in the architecture and the stunning landscapes of the San Francisco Bay.
On day two we will return to the Future Light classroom to focus on advanced techniques in tonemapping using Adobe Photoshop CS5 and Photomatix Pro to create the HDR image. Learn best techniques for optimizing images in the postprocessing workflow for HDR. Our goal is to complete at least one master image from start to finish including a final gallery quality print. Each participant will leave with one large format archival print of their best workshop image output from the Epson 7900 printer.
Class meets on Friday & Saturday, July 9-10 from 10:00 - 4:00

Images with Impact: a Two Day Workshop with Marc Silber • 07/22-23/10
Join Marc Silber at Future Light Digital Workshops for a dynamic, idea-packed two-day workshop, combining lessons gleaned from today's photographic masters, Marc's own arc through photography, and shooting in the field. You'll be inspired and leave with great ideas for creative shooting, better compositions and stronger images overall.

The workshop has three main components, which you'll rotate through over two days:
• Gain inspiration from Marc's vast portfolio of dramatic images. Learn how he developed his sense of composition, and about how he transitioned into the digital age.
• Learn from film and video footage of master photographers, discussing their practices. Examples include Ansel Adams, top commercial photographer Chase Jarvis, and prolific photographer Thomas Hawk. Marc will help you cut right to the core of how these "greats" capture their exceptional work.
• Shoot locally in the Mission District neighborhood of San Francisco with Marc. Learn to get extraordinary images from ordinary life.
Class meetson Thursday & Friday, July 22-23 from 10:00 - 4:00 p.m., Fee $450
