A one-day intensive course in the field and classroom, using digital SLRs and advanced Adobe Photoshop Camera RAW workflow. Bring your DSLR Camera - we provide the computer workstations and software! This class is appropriate for beginners, as well as more experienced users with new cameras or transitioning to digital from film SLRs.

The high contrast of normal sunny daylight scenes is often hard to capture with a single shot. HDR photography circumvents these limitations by combining multiple exposure values in a single image. This multi-day workshop teaches all the ins and outs of handling a higher dynamic range and of course also the limitations of this technique. This special workshop is taught by Uwe and Bettina Steinmuller of Digital Outback Photo.

Advanced class for experienced photographers on improving your seeing, searching for and composing your images. Day two is dedicated to improving your images through the finer points of editing, including a discussion of the tools we use.
The leader for this workshop is George Barr. George is a fine art photographer of more than 40 years experience, has been published in Lenswork, Black and White Photography and Outdoor Photography (U.K.), has written for Outback Photo and Luminous Landscape and recently published his acclaimed book “Take Your Photography To The Next Level”. Check out George's portfolios.
George along with co-leaders Uwe & Bettina Steinmueller and Brad Polt-Jones will lead two street photography sessions for the workshop participants. You will work on capturing your own images through the guided assignments.

Digital photography lets you take thousands of low-cost images. The only problem is storing and organizing them for fast, easy access. A well-designed system lets you make the most of your digital images and avoid chaos and frustration.
In this workshop, you will learn how to design a logical file structure, create an easy-to-use naming system, use “metadata” to simplify tracking images from program to program, and integrate image management into your workflow using Adobe Lightroom software. Master the RAW conversion tools. Learn how to set-up batch processing, roundtrip editing of images from Lightroom into Adobe Photoshop CS3, and output final versions of your master files via the Print, Slideshow and Web modules.
